The Dining Room

Three tables - Bench seats - Hank Tanner at head of senior table - Tutor at head of Second Table - Mrs Tanner at head of Junior table
Grace said at all meals - Praise god from whom all blessings flow - said quickly so as to give more time for eating.
Prayer said after tea from the black prayer book - Wednesdays prayer was "Grant, we beseech thee, merciful Lord, to thy faithful people pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all their sins, and serve thee with a quiet mind" This was the shortest prayer normally read by the Head of House.

Breakfast 7.30-8.00

Corn Flakes - Tea
Scrambled Eggs on toast- Baked Beans on toast -

Lunch 1.00 - 1.30

My recollections of lunch are fading exept for the awful Brussell sprouts, Cauliflower, cabbage, which got flicked into a plastic bag when no-one was looking and then chucked away between the conservatory wall and the brothel next door.
Stew with dumplings
Scotch egg
Fish on Fridays - I think with chips
The puddings were the best part - Spotted Dick - Apple Pie - Rice pudding - Baked apple

Tea 5.00 - 5.30

Beans on toast - tinned Spagetti on toast - Sardines on toast - Bread and dripping - bread (bring your own spreads I think)  Tea
